Community. Health. Wellbeing.

That’s what being part of Kidsgrove Sports Centre is all about.

We’re owned and operated by the Kidsgrove Sports Centre Community Group (CIO), a registered charity dedicated to supporting our local community and promoting sport.

If you’re new to the Centre or haven’t visited us in a while, these short videos will help. They give you an idea of what we’re all about, how to access our facilities, and how to use the ClubRight app to book your sessions.

You’re not just a customer here

What sets us apart from other operators is our commitment to reinvesting every penny back into the Centre and the community we serve.

The day-to-day operations are managed by Amy and Jay, supported by their dedicated team, who ensure the smooth running of the Centre and a welcoming experience for all.

As a charity, we are guided by a Board of Trustees—unpaid volunteers who oversee performance, set strategic direction, and ensure that the needs of the Kidsgrove community remain central to our work.

The Trustees hold ultimate responsibility for all aspects of the organisation and for ensuring that Kidsgrove Sports Centre fulfils its mission and objectives.

It’s been a bit of a battle, but

It’s all been worth it.

When Kidsgrove Sports Centre closed its doors in 2017 due to funding pressures, the future looked bleak. And there was no plan in place for a replacement sports centre.

But in the wake of setback there is often hope and opportunity.

We realised that it was possible to form a charitable organisation to run the Sports Centre.

Our aim – to provide affordable and accessible leisure to everyone in the community. And to rediscover the Centre as the hub of the community.

Fast-forward to 2022 and a £7.5m refurbishment… and Kidsgrove Sports Centre is back.

A huge thank you to everyone who has made this happen. In particular, community champion and Leader of Newcastle Borough Council, Simon Tagg, who has always fought our corner. He helped secure the substantial investment necessary to make our proposals a reality.

And special thanks to you, the people of Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme. Your passion has been incredible and you pulled together when we needed you most.

It just goes to show that anything is possible if enough people believe it to be.
