Project Description

An ultra-modern swimming pool

Fully accessible. UV filtered. Environmentally friendly.

With a host of contemporary features, our 25m swimming pool is among the finest swimming pools in Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme.

The temperature of the pool is 29ºC. However, the air temperature is 30ºC. This helps prevent evaporation and water loss, which means our swimming pool is more environmentally friendly and we can keep costs down. The pool cover also helps save around 30% on operating costs by trapping warm air.

Lane swimming

Lane swimming is a hugely popular at Kidsgrove. Pick a lane that matches your speed (slow, medium or fast) and stay within that lane for the duration of the swim. Lane swims are for people who can swim at least 25m (1 length). Share your chosen lane with a number of other swimmers who swim in a “chain-like” pattern.

Public swim

Our public swim is open to people of all abilities. The whole of the swimming pool is made available, without lane ropes. You don’t have to swim in a particular direction or follow any speed rules. Swim widths, lengths or just enjoy splashing about. We offer the largest number of public swimming sessions in Stoke-on-Trent.

Fun & Floats

This session is where we isolate the shallow end so that parents and children can play safely and enjoy our large floats and mats. These sessions are also very popular, great fun and a good way to spend family time together. The remainder of the swimming pool is open for general swimming use – much like our public swim.

AquaFit (Aqua Aerobics)

Aqua aerobics is a form of exercise that provides cardiovascular conditioning. The term ‘aerobic’ means ‘with oxygen’. Your breathing controls the amount of oxygen that reaches your muscles helping move and burn stored fuel. Aqua aerobics is similar to normal aerobics, but the water places less strain on your joints.

“The pool was a nice temperature where you could swim in it but also stand and rest without getting cold. The air temperature in the pool was really warm when you walk in but not noticeable when swimming. The whole experience was pleasant and positive.”

State-of-the-art features

So what makes ours one of the best swimming pools in Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme?

The temperature of the pool is constantly monitored by computer. It dictates how many of the six boilers need to be switched on to keep the temperature constant.  It switches off when the heat is no longer required.

At 29ºC it’s one of the warmest swimming pools in Staffordshire. This does, however, adhere to Swim England guidelines for recreational swimming pools – making it the ideal facility for everyone.

  • Fully accessible – via state-of-the-art PoolPod™ and accessible steps

  • Revolutionary UV Filtering – breaks down bacteria without the use of chemical treatment

  • Chlorine reduction technology – reduces chlorine use by 25%

  • Constant fresh water supply – ensures that the amount of chemically treated water is kept to a minimum

  • Deck level swimming pool – enables a more effective water filtering system and more pleasurable swimming experience

  • Anti-glare LED lighting – a revolutionary swimming pool lighting surround
